Q: My home is located outside of Northeast Wisconsin. Can I still have it listed on your website?

Q: Can I print flyers for use at my open houses or to place with my yard sign?
A: You may print as many flyers as you like from your listing or our Members area. Our flyers feature a photo of your home, upcoming open houses, property features, asking price, your detailed description, and a direct website link (e.g. www.AreaByOwner.com/1234). If you need an "Information Tube" to hold your flyers, you can normally pick one up at a local home improvement store or purchase it online.
Q: Do you allow land, lots, acreage, and other property for sale by owner to be listed on your website? Many other websites seem to favor just homes.
A: Yes. Both homes for sale by owner and all types of property for sale including land, lots, and acreage for sale by owner may be listed on the website. We realize that many buyers that visit our website might only be interested in searching for land for sale, and want to be able to easily find these listings. AreaByOwner.com has added a section dedicated to easily finding land, lots, acreage, and other property for sale by owner. By not lumping all of our listings into one big pile, it makes it easier for users of the site to find the "for sale by owner" home or property they are looking for. This new feature also benefits sellers of land, lots, and acreage since their property gets the dedicated exposure it deserves.
Q: I have never thought of selling a home without a real estate agent. Will I be able to sell my home myself?

Your 15+ photos will be resized when you upload them to display properly on the website in 3 different sizes (small, large, and zoom).
Q: Can I tell how many buyers have viewed my online listing?
A: Yes. To view how many hits you have to your online listing, you can sign in to your Member account and view this number. You may also make updates to your home or property listing 24/7 from the Members area.
Q: I would like to place an ad for my home in my local newspaper. Can I include a website link that takes buyers directly to my online listing?
A: Yes. Advertising your home for sale in the newspaper and other traditional media is a great idea for additional exposure! We offer a "quick link" that you can use to easily direct potential buyers to your AreaByOwner.com web listing so users don't have to search for it (e.g. www.AreaByOwner.com/1234). Your direct website link will also be printed on your flyers for you automatically.
Q: Can I place my directional "for sale" signs on public property such as boulevards and medians? Or will my signs get taken away?
A: You may want to check first with your local municipality and ask about specific rules and guidelines for signs. Most cities and villages are willing to allow you to place signs on public areas as long as no one complains. Another popular option is to place directional signs on private property provided you ask them first. Most people are more than willing to let you do so.
